Activate3D is very excited to announce the first release of Intelligent Character Motion. We’ve been working on this since the summer, and there’s a ton of exciting functionality.
- Support for multiple skeleton SDKs.
- Robust skeleton processing
- Multiple filtering algorithms to reduce jitter.
- Inverse kinematics to insure consistent bone lengths.
- Remapping between characters of different sizes.
- Grasping detection
- Vision based grasping solutions using heuristics and supervised learning
- Inference based solutions seen in the video here.
- Motion recognition
- Import keyframe motions for motion recognition
- High-speed recognition algorithm that runs in a low dimensional space.
- Ability to recognize motions even with partial body mimicking.
- Animation synthesis
- Animation fully integrated into a dynamic environment with NVIDIA’s PhysX.
- Patented blending algorithm to combine user peformance with physical simulation.
- Inverse kinematic algorithms to enforce contact with the virtual world.
On top of all those features (and many more), we’ve made sure the SDK is easy to use with full API documentation, multiple tutorials and howto guides, and full high-level documentation. If you’re interested in evaluating the software or partnering with us on some type of development, please let us know. You can reach us at info@activate3d.com.

I just downloaded the file, i instal it but this yet not working. First it said me that i was needing a test.oni file, so i created one by recording few seconds with OpenNi. When i tryied again by launching OpenGLAnimationApp.exe i get the same error saying me again that the program failed to open motion database because of an error from: “\A3DMotionDatabase.ccp line 137″.
So if anybody knows where i did an error or something etheir, please help me.
I’m really sorry for my english but i’m french and as a frog eater i don’t speak well english. Sorry again!
Swann,
It’s likely that you aren’t in the right working directory. Try setting the working directory in Visual Studio to $(SolutionDir)..\Data or using the batch files in Samples\bin to run the application. Those batch files switch into the proper directory.
I’m going to post this to our user group at http://groups.google.com/group/activate3d-icm/. Please join up there for any further questions.
